Pro Evolution Soccer 2019

Introduction:

Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 (PES 2019), abbreviated as PES 2019, is a football simulation video game developed by PES Productions and published by Konami for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Released as the 18th installment in the PES series, it launched on August 28, 2018, in North America and on August 30, 2018, in Japan, Europe, and Australia. Philippe Coutinho, playing as a winger for FC Barcelona, featured on the standard edition cover during this period, while David Beckham graced the front cover of the legend edition. The inclusion of Scottish clubs Celtic and Rangers, along with their stadiums for the Old Firm derby, was a notable addition. PES 2019 marked the last installment to be solely branded as PES, preceding the decision to rebrand it as eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer, starting with the 2019 edition, eFootball PES 2020, and later simply as eFootball.

About This Game

Konami's focus for PES 2019 was on expanding licenses, including fully licensed leagues, stadiums, and introducing various soccer legends. The officially announced championships included 12 leagues such as Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Danish Superligaen, Portuguese Primeira Liga, Belgian Jupiler Pro League, Swiss Raiffeisen Super League, Scottish Premiership, Dutch Eredivisie, and the Argentine Primera División. However, Konami decided not to renew its 10-year deal with UEFA for the Champions League, Europa League, and the UEFA Super Cup, with these licenses moving to EA Sports FIFA 19. PES 2019 was succeeded by eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020.

In terms of gameplay, PES 2019 aimed to simulate real-life football matches, with individual players showcasing unique skills and play styles reflective of their real-world counterparts. Notable players like Lionel Messi were designed to play similarly to their real-life selves, incorporating features such as a low center of gravity and a powerful left foot. The game also allowed customization of goal celebrations for added personalization.

The development of PES 2019 introduced a new feature called "Magic Moments." Konami announced the inclusion of the International Champions Cup, an improved negotiation system, and enhanced budget management. New skill traits, including edge turn, no-look pass, control loop, dipping shot, and rising shot, were introduced. The player individuality aspect was expanded, making skills and strengths more prominent during gameplay. The full-body touch feature from the previous installment was also enhanced. Additional features included graphical improvements and 4K HDR support across all compatible platforms. Enlighten software was utilized to overhaul lighting, encompassing both natural and stadium-based lighting, with stands and pitches closely resembling their real-life counterparts based on the time of day.
